A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT OF ALASKA SCTP-YESS

Dear Supporter of Alaska SCTP,

Alaska SCTP is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that exists as a state association supporting 18 USAYESS, USA Shooting, and ACUI collegiate-affiliated youth clay target sports teams throughout the state. Our purpose is to provide funds, equipment, training, and guidance to these teams, to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, self-reliance, respect, personal discipline, responsibility, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship through regular competition at local, state, and national events. 

The funding we receive in grants from conservation organizations and contributions from businesses and individuals is critical for growing the program, developing new teams in communities across Alaska, procuring equipment and supplies for proper training of athletes, providing opportunities for our Varsity athletes to compete Outside alongside collegiate teams, host the USA Shooting Junior Olympic State Qualifying Matches which provides eligibility for our Alaska kids to compete at JO Nationals, train coaching staff and provide support for team and state association administrative needs.   

All of our Corporate Officers, administration, and coaches are volunteers.  No one receives a paycheck for their work to keep Alaska SCTP a strong youth sports organization.   100% of all contributions go into developing and strengthening teams and providing competition opportunities for our clay target athletes. 

In addition to contributions and grant funds, our teams host fundraisers to boost their finances, providing funds for travel to competitions, purchasing team vests, providing more ammo, targets, and shotguns for practices, and contributing to their own MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment Account.  We strongly encourage all athletes to do their part in laying a healthy financial foundation for their team.

The shotgun sports are not cheap, but we believe they return the greatest benefit to our athletes, their families, their communities, and their future.  We teach not just skills in a sport they may participate in for the rest of their lives, but strong and positive character-building traits that will serve them well as they move into adulthood. 

Your contribution to Alaska SCTP or any of its member teams will be greatly appreciated and wisely invested in Alaska’s youth shotgun sports athletes!
