Alaska Youth Education in Shooting Sports (AlaskaYESS) is proud to be affiliated with USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USAYESS), a national organization dedicated to supporting youth shooting sports, education, safety, and outdoor conservation. Through this affiliation, AlaskaYESS provides young athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, practice sportsmanship, and compete as part of a larger nationwide community committed to the positive growth of youth shooting sports.

The Alaska Youth Education in Shooting Sports (AlaskaYESS) program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating youth in Alaska about wildlife conservation and firearm safety and promoting youth shooting sports on a competitive and scholastic level throughout the State of Alaska. Our purpose is to provide training and guidance to the youth shooting programs of Alaska, with the goal of developing self-confidence, self-esteem, self-reliance, respect, personal discipline, responsibility, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship through regular practice and competition at local, state, and national events.

Our goal is to introduce youth shotgun shooting sports to as many of Alaska’s youth as possible, helping them use sports to develop and grow, and to be educated in gun safety and the proper handling of firearms.

As our friends from SSYSS said: “Having an enjoyable time and competition is clearly a part of the program, but it is not the underlying principle. The ‘win-at-all-costs,’ philosophy has no place in the program. Honoring the game, exhibiting good sportsmanship, and being a responsible team member, are the bedrock values the program strives to instill.”

Alaska SCTP-YESS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting youth shooting on a competitive and scholastic level throughout the State of Alaska. Our purpose is to provide funds, equipment, training, and guidance to the youth shooting teams of Alaska, to develop self-confidence, self-esteem, self-reliance, respect, personal discipline, responsibility, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship through regular competition at local, state, and national events.

To provide awesome youth shooting events, and enhance and develop team fundraising opportunities while encouraging youth shooting team growth and outdoor experiences for our athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and communities.
